What to expect from a sibling shoot with a newborn?
So many parents tell us the shot they are most excited to have is a picture of their big baby with their new baby. I mean this is the picture you’ve had in your head since you saw the lines on that stick 💛 It’s the most magical and unpredictable part of any newborn shoot.
Zero Pressure
Toddlers (and kids in general) can pick up on pressure. They know when you need them to perform and the chances are they will do the exact opposite of what you want - in their gorgeous little toddler way of course.
Our approach
In RinkaDink our approach to ANY shoot is always fun over performance and this applies more so with newborns and their big siblings. Looking at it from the new siblings perspective, their entire life has just been changed, there is an entirely new human in the house that is only starting to feel real. So given there has just been so much change in their little life we want to do everything we can to make this a fun experience 💛 So there are a few ways that we see this go;
Your big baby might be so in love with their new sibling that they want to kiss and cuddle or even hold them - AWESOME!
They might be feeling a little bit more nervous than usual and in this case they might just want to touch babies little toes or maybe just stroke their head - also AWESOME.
Big baby might be feeling a little overwhelmed with all this ‘new’ and just need to be in Mum or Dad’s arms for the shoot - also totally AWESOME.
It’s really all awesome. There is no exception. No matter what, we promise a relaxed newborn session filled with tea/coffee and toddler play and a most gorgeous newborn gallery of images that you and your family will treasure for a lifetime.
