Why should I have maternity photographs?
We feel pretty passionately that every woman deserves a beautiful photograph of herself pregnant. And it is for this reason that we’re extending our offer to include a complimentary maternity shoot with all newborn photography sessions until at least October this year (we’ll keep it going longer if we can make the diary space available). We are having such fun with these sessions, it’s honestly a complete novelty for us to have a subject who does exactly what we tell them lol! Also we love getting to spend some time with our mums-to-be before the newborn arrives.
But all this is information on why ‘we’ love bump shoots, let us give you a few things that might help you love the idea of a bump shoot.

Chapter one. This is the start of your baby’s story. Little kids are so amazingly visual in how they see and describe the world. Being able to show them pictures of you with your big belly helps them really understand this part of where they came from.
This isn’t just for you, this is for future generations. Imagine your baby - showing their baby photos - of their mum carrying them 🥺
Your body is amazing. It’s literally creating a brand new human. From scratch. With a whole little personality that’s just waiting to come out. That deserves to be recorded.
No regrets. How many times in your life have you not done [insert the thing] because you were too busy [or insert any negative adjective]. We all do it. And we shouldn’t. So we’re saying don’t stop yourself from doing this. Take the pictures, you will never regret it.
It’s free and it takes 20mins. It’s easy to talk yourself out of something that is a big commitment in terms of money or time. This isn’t. We’re literally giving these shoots away for free with all newborn sessions and they take 20mins.
Freeze this moment. Once that baby arrives being pregnant will feel like a distant memory. The bump that you rest your hands on (and sometimes your cuppa / plate / kindle) will be gone and in its place will be this brand new human. A bump shoot can help you hold onto the happy memory of that beach ball you got so used to.
Share the excitement. If you are like us and have family or friends that live far away, your bump pictures can be a really sweet way to share the excitement.
